And so life begins to find its rhythm in North Carolina…
We hunt for a new bagel place. So far, we don’t have a comparable replacement. The one closest to our house, Big Apple Bagels, has GREAT bagels and muffins, but the egg sandwiches have very little egg. And there is not a croissant option, which we miss.
We enjoy it on occasion, but need to keep trying!
We were fascinated by the trash collection. The truck lifts the containers up in the air and dumps them into the truck. A very cool mechanical arm does the work!
We found a new pool and joined for next summer. They were kind enough to let us finish out the two weeks left for this summer.
We began meeting new groups of friends and exploring new places to play. This trip was to “Go Outside and Play Now” in Garner, NC. It was a fun time and a unique place.
We were invited by a gal who responded to my
desperate plea for friends inquiry about other homeschoolers who lived close by on a yahoo group for this region. I am so thankful she responded! Turns out, she lives close enough that we can bike to her house!
A favorite activity was laser tag in the forest. They used “European” style gear, so you wore a head piece instead of a big vest. This made it easy enough for C (age 4) to participate. The kids loved it.
And yes, I played too because I LOVE laser tag. The guns for this game were SO accurate with amazing scopes on them so you could aim really well.
But, I missed the arena with a “winner” and “loser” and points. This was not the same in that way.
Yep, life keeps on ticking.
Loving the time with my kiddos!
