The kids and I have been visiting the local Senior Center every month for five years now. When we started our visits, K (age 9) was only 4 years old, T (age 7) was 2, and the boys didn’t exist. In fact, I was pregnant with D (age 5).
It’s hard to remember those early days when the girls were a bit nervous about the whole thing and hesitant to get involved.
Now they jump right in and help out!
On this particular visit in December, there was a guest performance by an African Drummer. It was such fun to learn some new songs AND to sing Christmas carols to an African beat.
Not only do the seniors enjoy watching the kids, but the visiting performers always include them and have a great time with their young energy!
On this particular week, it was also the special day to celebrate December birthdays, so we joined the Seniors for a special pizza lunch!
We had a great time!
