Last year we began a little tradition of opening a few family gifts during the Advent Season. We enjoyed the special family time that these gifts created and decided to do the same this year.
Our first family gift was a game: Rory’s Story Cubes. AWESOME! This was a huge hit and we had a fabulous time playing around the dinner table. There was quite a bit of laughter because D (age 4) kept killing everyone and blowing things up.
Our second gift was the movie, “Cars 2”. The BEST part of this gift was watching D (age 4) watch the movie. OH. MY. GOODNESS. He was awesome!
D had seen the movie previously with my nephew and husband, so he was excited to see it again.
Well, as soon as Finn McMissle started running away and things started blowing up, D got SO excited. He jumped up, threw his fist in the air, and shouted, “That’s Finn McMissle and he is AWESOME”.
The movie had barely started and I already loved it. Because I loved watching D enjoy a “boy spy movie” so much!
Our last family gift this year were some maze activity books. During C (age 2)’s naptime, we opened some new maze booklets and spend some time doing mazes together.
We have enjoyed this tradition and plan to continue it each year as we are able!
