I want THOSE sunglasses mommy.
The pink ones, D?
Yes! I want the ones with the [Hello Kitty] cat!
How about these? (holds up Transformers)
NO! I want the cat!
What about Lightning McQueen? Hot Wheels? These cool blue ones?
NO! NO! NO!
Why don’t we go look at the next store and if you don’t find something else we can come back and get these?
Mommy, I want these. (the sobbing has started)
Ok sweetie. It’s fine. I said you can get whatever you want, so you can have those. We’ll go get them….
There are battles that aren’t worth fighting. There are battles that aren’t worth fighting. There are battles that aren’t worth fighting.
Yes, I did have to keep repeating that to myself…
So that’s my boy this summer!
He loves his new sunglasses and I love my future blackmail photos…

Actually I chuckled till I got to that third photo. Then I thought to myself ... "Not many little boys can make pink shades look manly. But he did it, peeking out over the tops like that." He's too cute!

Heh, heh... way to reframe it, Mary! (no pun intended) You ARE going to love having those pix when he's about mid-teens... or starts dating...
you are so right... we def have to choose are battles... and something tells me this isn't the first time you'll be repeating that mantra to yourself.
Soooooo funny. Yup, I have a feeling that these pics are going to resurrect about 20 years from now and he'll be cracking up with a bit of a red face. Love it!
