Tiny Talk Tuesday

Tiny Talk Tuesday helps parents focus on one of the many joys of parenting - the funny things that our little ones (and sometimes big ones) have to say.

Join in the fun and record the Tiny Talk overheard in your house! Publish a post on your blog and link us to the laughs. Then be sure to link to the blog carnival on this post so more bloggers can join in the fun.

The guidelines can be found here if you need them.

I CRACKED up this week...but didn't write any of it down...so this is it for me...
____________________________________________

We were coloring an Egyptian courtyard which included a little pool. D (age 3) said, "I am coloring it {water} red. Mine has turned to blood."

(uh...yeah, we reviewed the plagues of Egypt before the holidays. I think that one stood out)

For the first time, C (18 months) said, "ME" tonight when he wanted something.

(I think we'll hear that a lot more)

Our Featured Tiny Talker is Karen, from Tots and Me. A great way to get to know her is to look at her 2010 year in review.

I am curious about the current bible study online she has joined. It is definitely worth checking out!

Now...let's hear a little about Karen, from Karen.

Tell us about yourself and your family. Be sure to include your
own hobbies and interests as well as information about your kids and
hubby.

I am blessed to have 10 children, not all of whom live with us (my middle son lives with his dad and my husband's children live with their mom). In our home we have five, three of whom I am home preschooling with plans to continue homeschooling throughout their school years. (My husband and I have seen too many "bad" things with our older children to send our precious young ones into the system). I love being able to create lessons for the girls. I have always enjoyed doing this, which is why I went to school for teaching originally, and ended up going to school for a degree in Human Services, taking as many courses in early childhood as were available at the local college. I have a bit of a background in Montessori and try to implement some in our days, though not always successfully. I used to enjoy some needle crafts, but have no time for them now. What I do make time for is reading, photo taking, exercising and just recently a new Bible Study. I have a book blog, Me, Myself, I Read (and write)and a newer blog, Turn My Life Around, on which I post my weight loss journey and now my Bible Study.

I am very fortunate to have a loving, supportive husband who helps out with the girls. Sometimes he takes some time to give them some impromptu lessons, other times it is just play or watching the baby so I can work with the older children. All when he is not recuperating from his 12 hour long night shifts as an LPN in a long term care facility. I am so thankful that God brought us together.

Tell us about your blog. What do you tend to write about? What are
some of your favorite posts/topics?

I started my blog so I could journal and share about the crafts I did with the girls. When I started having "lesson time" with the girls things got a little bit bigger. I share our weekly lessons and link up to Tot School, Preschool Corner and Weekly Wrap Up. I also love participating in Muffin Tin Monday. I also link up to different linkys: If our lessons include math (Math Links), science (Science Sunday), geography (Geography/History) or Montessori (Montessori Monday). And of course there is StART and Read, Explore, Learn and Kids Get Crafty for our crafts. I post lots of pictures because...well I can't help myself. Digital cameras are either the best or worst thing that ever were introduced to me. My mother used to think I took too many pictures when I used 35 mm film. Wonder what she thinks now. lol

I write mostly about what we are learning, reading or making. Though I have started joining photo challenges and I post about giveaways I have entered and I think my readers might find interesting.

I also host a blog carnival, Words of Wisdom Wednesday. I created Words of Wisdom Wednesday so I could share the cool answers I get from my girls to questions I come up with, such as "Where are the people in planes going?", "Why is the weather getting colder?", and "Why do we brush our teeth?" I invite others to ask their children the same questions and post about it and then link up during the week

What is the one thing about you that we might not find on your blog

From my blog you probably could not tell that I am very shy and have a very hard time communicating with people.

Isn't it so funny the things that stick out in their minds from the stories?

I love that you son talked about his water turning red. It's great to know they were digesting something you read to them!
Thanks again for hosting.
