Tiny Talk Tuesday helps parents focus on one of the many joys of parenting - the funny things that our little ones (and sometimes big ones) have to say.
Join in the fun and record the Tiny Talk overheard in your house! Publish a post on your blog and link us to the laughs. Then be sure to link to the blog carnival on this post so more bloggers can join in the fun.
The guidelines can be found here if you need them.

I was reading a book aloud to the kids...
D (age 3): Mommy, you are very good at that book. (pause) You are very good at LOTS of books.

T (age 6) was in the car with my mom and they were driving to the mall. The mall happens to be near the office of her ALLERGIST.
T: This is near my orthopedic doctor, but I don't have an orthopedic doctor.

T: Grandma, do you like being a grandma?
Grandma: I do like being a grandma.
T: Is that because you are named after me?

Our Featured Tiny Talk Family this week is Mary Anne from Mama Smiles.
I am just getting to know Mary Anne and her family through her blog. Her blog is full of fun and creative ideas like this one with pattern blocks and playdough. THAT is an easy one to implement, and I must ask, "Why didn't I think of that?"
And story cubes have been on my list for ages, so I was excited to find this post too!
Her kids are adorable, and I must tell her son that the TSA workers scare me too! I am quite certain that this picture of her husband and the kids is the best wordless wednesday shot I have seen in awhile! A definite precious moment in time!
And now some information from Mary Anne...
Tell us about yourself and your family.
I live in Massachusetts with my husband Mike and three kids: Emma (4), Johnny(3 this week!), and Lily(1). My kids and I love crafts, and the entire family loves learning. Before becoming a mom, I spent my time studying and teaching courses in Music, French, Spanish, Education, Sociology, and Medicine. My daughter Emma was born while I was finishing up my PhD - she even attended the celebratory dinner when I passed my defense! I'm thrilled to now be able to stay home with my kids, and we have a lot of fun together! I love being a mom! I'm also a childhood cancer survivor, so I have a deep appreciation for medical research and caring medical practitioners.
Tell us about your blog. What do you tend to write about? What are some of your favorite posts/topics?
I write about everyday life with my three kids focusing on things we enjoy, especially crafts and learning. I run a series on self-motivated exploratory learning called Learning Laboratory, and a monthly goals linky. My blog serves as personal motivation to get things done, as well as a way to remember all the neat things we get to do. I also run the occasional review/giveaway - there's one for a cute children's book going on right now.
A few favorite posts:
Doing What We Do - A "behind the scenes" look into my daily life
Play Dough and Pattern Blocks - A recent favorite toy combination
Fashion Bear - My daughter Emma's styling of her homemade felt dress-up bear (you can download templates from my blog).
What is the one thing about you that we might not find on your blog?
When I'm discouraged or frustrated, I usually call my mom, one of my siblings, or a friend instead of blogging about it. I do mention sorrows and frustrations, because they are a part of life. But I have a wonderful real-life support network, and my blog is a place for things I want to remember!
So go say hi to Mary Anne this week and get to know her family a bit

The first comment, about being good with books, sounds like something Tabitha would say.
Sweet grandma comment.
I love recording the way children say words. I'm sure the fact that C can sign helps decipher the word's he is saying. I just love signing with the girls. I would swear Hannah, who is only 7 months, is now signing "milk" or "milkers" as I call it, when I ask her if she wants milkers (to nurse) and I make the sign.
Love C's little words. I miss those days with my daughter. *^^*
I love the grandma conversation. :) so cute!
I love how grandma's namesake keeps coming up as if she came first in this world! So cute!
I love that your 17-mo-old is signing! Cute that you're "good at books". Thanks again for hosting :o)
Isn't signing the best?
Congratulations at being good at LOTS of books! ;)
And thanks for featuring me!
