Tiny Talk Tuesday

Tiny Talk Tuesday helps parents focus on one of the many joys of parenting - the funny things that our little ones (and sometimes big ones) have to say.

Join in the fun and record the Tiny Talk overheard in your house! Publish a post on your blog and link us to the laughs. Then be sure to link to the blog carnival on this post so more bloggers can join in the fun.

The guidelines can be found here if you need them.

We were all sitting at dinner and chatting about the day. Totally out of the blue, D (age3), who calls himself "The Cat", announced, "There is going to be a big to do at the cat's house tonight."

Everyone cracked up! T (age 5) tells us that he got that from Robin Hood. Hmm?

D (age 3) loves to show me his ability to wink. He was winking one eye and then the other. He kept alternating. He told me, "One and two. One and two and three at once!"

Hmmmm...three eyes at once?

T had a friend, M, in the car with her and the boys. They were discussing their favorite colors.

T: My favorite is red.
M: My favorite is purple.
T: That is my sister's favorite!!
D: My favorite is red truck. Like there.

(partly distracted by the red truck next to us, but it was cute to have a "boy color")

K (age 7) told her grandmother, "You are a revolting lady!"

I think she was a bit confused about the meaning of one of Mona Melendy's favorite words from, "The Four-Story Mistake". I highly recommend, "The Saturdays" as a read aloud! "The Four Story Mistake" is the sequel. The Melendy's are talked about daily around here.

C (age 14 months) brings us something and says, "EEEE-AAARRR". This appears to be his version of "here", but it is two syllables.

He also now says, "UH OH".

K (age 7), my thoughtful girl, has spent the last 2 days planning for her sister's 6th birthday. She has made gifts, wrapped presents, and is discussing festivities for the day as well as "birthday eve". It has been sweet to listen to her talk and share in her excitement for her sister. She is a better planner than her mommy these days!

Well, I see now that you can't use quotes when you link up... sorry. Live and learn. That should read "Our Government." Yes, my 6 year old seems to be on the verge of becoming a political activist - wonder where that comes from, not me, that's for sure! (and that's not written sarcastically).

So glad to have found your blog carnival. I love sharing what my children say, and having it written down so I will remember it in the future (I have 3 teenagers and wish I had recorded things back then, because I really don't remember a lot). I tried my own blog carnival, but had no entires, now I know why, and I am glad I have somewhere to share.
By the way, wondering how grandma responded to the "revolting" comment.

Oh my, I laughed so hard at "You are a revolting lady!!" I seem to find shocking, potentially awkward comments/situations to be the funniest!

Love that you have so much tiny talk with four little talkers in the house now. And they all seem to have such distinct personalities!
