Dear K (age 7),
Without a doubt, God has given you the gift of encouragement. We see it so regularly expressed in your actions and words.
Last week, you wrote notes for every teacher and student that are in your classes at co-op on Friday. I heard from more than one person about how precious your note was to them or their child that day.
You said just what someone needed to hear in more than one instance that day. Even as a little girl, you are an amazing vessel for His love to everyone who comes along your path!
Notes and letters from you to members of our family are quite common. You are gifted with a encouraging spirit and I am so thankful you share your gift with your family. On Tuesday night, I was tutoring and didn’t get home until you were in bed. Your words lifted my spirits when I got home that night.
I went up to my room and my bed was made and this note was sitting on it:
Next to it was one that Daddy had clearly found during the same evening:
But you didn’t stop there. There was a note for your family. It is so precious that you specifically mentioned each person!
And you never forget your sister.
Or your brother, D (age 3)
(The picture is the two of you with “a bag of rocks”.)
Interestingly enough, you are almost finished memorizing Romans 12. This passage contains a wonderful description of the Body of Christ working together, using their individual gifts. Verse 8 commands, “…if it is encouraging, let him encourage…”
You are doing this my dear child. God is using you to build up our family and encourage the hearts of those around you. May He use your words to build up His kingdom in ways we can’t even imagine!
Love,
Mommy

What a priceless gift she is.
What a precious girl you have! How sweet to see God's love and work in her life from a young age!
That is so sweet. I'm sure you were beaming after reading the notes.
Dave and I sat here and read these priceless notes together. We laughed as it brought those memories of long ago back to us from our own lives.
YES, I cried again!
Precious little girl of yours, she will change this world, I just know it!
Can I adopt your family?
What a sweet girl and a wonderful gift she has been given!

Not only is she encouraging, but she really KNOWS her family members! So sweet.
Wow. She is wise beyond her years.
Pure Sunshine! Thanks for sharing.
That is wonderful! I'm guessing that she sees an encouraging spirit in you and imitates that. :)
Those notes are treasures!!! I especially liked the "Daniel I would hug forever." :)
