"Mom, I want to tell you a song I wrote in my head. It is for Lent."
If I take a breath and step out on my own
I'll only be a hard stone.
If I take a breath and go with God together
I'll be in heaven forever.
Precious. I spent a moment singing it with her and then sent her back to bed.
A few moments later, T (age 5) came down the hall. She now had a song for Lent as well:
Step out in the light. Take a big flight to heaven forever and ever.
So I sang it with her before I sent her back to bed.
Clearly, they weren't obeying the "No Talking to Each Other" rule. But I let it slide without a comment. Because I really can't think of anything better for them to be talking about and brainstorming together...
Worship music to call their own.
Talk away my sweet girls. Mommy won't be stopping you tonight.

Such open hearts to their Lord. Nothing sweeter to a mother!
very sweet girls you have! your girls are getting to the point where you don't necessarily have to discourage talking. Rather, encourage *quiet* conversation. You will be surprised what they end up talking about. My girls often say their favorite part of the day is talking things thru with their respective sisterly roommates at bed time. And that even with girls who are together most of the day, every day.
Keep up the good parenting, Mary!
Priceless! Nothing is worth more!
You can't beat conversations/songs like those!! Love it!!
That's really sweet!
